Re: Announcement regarding LW2+WotC

While in some ways this is a disappointment as I think PI dd an amazing job of not only modding EW but Xcom 2 too. In other ways I see it as a blessing. I was not a fan of WOTC, I didn't even bother to complete a campaign, it just didn't feel fun, I blame LW2 for that. That said it means PI ca...

Re: Combatives fix

How about making combativeness similar to hard target? The first melee attack can be countered but after that the % for successive counters drops. That might be a nice way to change it, though personally I like it the way it is.

Re: Hive Queen and Faceless.

I am pretty sure Hive Queen does not move. In the black site? It moved as it demolished half the back wall for me, without giving it's position away...It was my first run on the black site so didn't know one even existed! :( I believe you get faceless on capture VIP missions at strength 5 and above...

Re: Hive Queen and Faceless.

Battle scanners and/or scanning protocol will spot and reveal burrowed chrysilids. All chryssalids unburrow themselves after a couple of turns, run around, then burrow back. Audio queues let you know right away that there're chryssalids around, and let you know more or less the direction where they...

Re: Hive Queen and Faceless.

It's not knowing how things work, I't's about not being able to counter... How are you supposed to spot the hive queen? How are you supposed to avoid faceless if you haven't been notified they will be on a mission? When running the spy missions the faceless transform miles away, probably too far imh...

Hive Queen and Faceless.

What do people think about these bastards being able to detect your concealed shinobis before they have even spawned on the map? Just had a trap mission, at the time I didn't realise it was a trap as I detected it with 2.5 days on the timer and boosted with intel to 101% My shinobi was scouting ahea...

Re: Luck in the Early Game

I can agree on luck being an important factor with starting the game, especially on where advent strength is distributed around the globe and mission pops, though I guess this is one of the reasons the game is so challenging and it forces you to adapt your strategies, some games though might not be ...

Re: Arguments Regarding Squad Upgrades & More

The problem I can see with mass upgrades is the cost. To upgrade all your soldiers individually is naturally extremely expensive but you can do it piece by piece. I like to run squads with a mixture of gear sometimes ranging from ballistics through to mag. I find the economy aspect interesting as it...

Boosting with Intel

I've noticed on some missions where there has been a relatively low amount of infiltration, boosting the infiltration by using intel doesn't boost by the expected 75%.

Is there a minimum infiltration threshold for the 75% to kick in?

Re: Questions about force level

Legendary is different from Commander in that you start right away at "Snake level". So you might find one in Gatecrasher instead of the Sectoid, but it's random. Then comes the Stunlancers I think, followed by single Muton and then MEC, if I recall correctly. Lovely. Trying my seco...

Re: Questions about force level

I started a new campaign on V/I I'm in May, i've contacted 4 regions and they are all at strength 1 except my starting region which is at 2. I'm meeting mechs and various snakes but in my previous campaign the regions were much higher levels than is this one, what gives!? I've been running 9+ missio...

Superior PCS rewards

I'm not sure if this is a bug or if it just doesn't appear on the post mission report or not. After hacking a security lamp post thingy with lasers etc....choosing the reward, superior pcs and being successful doesn't seem to award a pcs. At the post mission report it doesn't show up on the listed l...

Anyone else experienced this? It's particularly jarring when the hit soldier then panics..... :o Are you saying you wouldn't panic if you were hit by a zombie from two tiles away?! lol, yup, I did, though instead of hunkering I raged!!! Are you certain you were two tiles away? IIRC this l...

Re: Winding things down.

You should definitively not stop doing GOps for Intel : the 2nd to last Golden Path mission, the Network Tower, will spawn on the furthest uncontacted region on the map. So unless you have every region contacted, you're gonna have to spend time, intel and supplies (for towers) to get there. Also Av...

Zombies.

I was just hit by a zombie from 2 tiles away, i.e it was not on an adjacent tile. I'm sorry but that's b.s. Faceless I can understand with their two sometimes three tiles range because of their long arms and gooey, stretch Armstrong nature but zombies can go to hell. Anyone else experienced t...

Winding things down.

When do people usually start winding missions down? In my last campaign, I got to December, had liberated a region and contacted all but one other, I had a good supply of income and 2 pretty good squads. At this time I felt as though the risks of loosing a soldier or even a whole squad outweighed an...

Re: Blacksite.

Wow, thanks for the comprehensive breakdown! Very useful indeed, facility leads seem very hard to proc! It also taught me it's useful to have advisors in regions even if you are just running intel jobs. Thanks for all the help, I actually started a new campaign yesterday, I was running a mission and...

Re: Blacksite.

You can find them as soon as you learn about AVATAR (after liberating your first region) Some facts about Facility Leads missions : They are hard to detect (they are twice as hard to detect as regular "find a lead" missions and require an intel "pool" of 120 instead of 5!). What...

Re: Blacksite.

This time i really put a high priority on slowing down AVATAR by actively fishing for Facility Leads and liberating all of Asia so i'm not too worried but i'm really late. I haven't get any facility leads yet and i'm in November, do you need to take the blacksite out first or is it a case of...

Just wondering when people usually beat the blacksite by? Re: black site doesn't remove avatar countdown

I just completed the blacksite mission this evening on Veteran/Ironman. The avatar progress is reduced by three, I just saw it happen now.

I wonder if your saved game is bugged/corrupted?
