I quite like these when no pods start too close to the rebels. It often forces a multi-pod engagement which is butt-clenching but fun.

I was actually wondering if the facility leads are limited to prevent liberating the globe? More likely a bug though. I don't think so. I agree, I changed it to 0 when 1.1 switches some perks and left it like that. I don't really see the value or fun in having locked down skills. If I feel I messed up a build I just reconfigure. Means I try things I never would have otherwise. Note I don't use this to reconfigure for specific missi...

I also find this very frustrating. hazmat suits are in the game and cheap, so there's no reason to not wear one on a flamer. I'd much rather the clown standing right in front of the thrower doesn't somehow avoid the mass of flames rushing past them.

And lets also add that you would still have two different type of flames each on its own cooldown cycle. You would have the regular one, and then roust. Wraith cannon worked fine in vanilla. I did hack a sectopod on a final mission (several +10 permanent hack bonuses over the campaign makes it easy), and fired wraith cannon at the aliens quite well. Wraith cannon is not usable when you hack a sectopod. Gun and lightning do work.
