Re: Play testers wanted for alpha release of LW2 for WOTC
This is looking pretty good so far, great work. Been trying it out with no other mods installed. So far I've noticed that the advent captains do not seem to be using holo targeting (I have seen them shoot as first action of turn), so might be something wonky with the AI. And I've gotten one reproduc...

Re: LWOTC rises from the ashes (kind of)
This looks really promising... heck, if you can just get the patrolling and LW AI working, that would already make WotC so much more playable to me than currently... Can't really offer much help myself unfortunately, I just hope you can get enough cobbled together to be an absolute minimum product, ...

I'd also like to see others modlists if people wants to share
Here's the mods I played with last time I played a bit of LW (like 3-4 months ago):

Re: Game Suddenly Ends in Defeat
I actually feel Mustang pretty well on this. I just lost a campaign in the very same way simply because I didn't take the objective seriously enough. I was aware of the avatar project, but went straight to LW 2, skipping XCOM 2. Maybe Mustang and I are a special group of plebs (although... I really...

Re: Lament for LWOTC
@cryptc Since youre interested in what we had planned: Our plan for infiltration & fatique was to combine them. Infiltration would be scaled down to about 1/2 to 2/3s of the time it had in LW2, depending on the mission type, and thus require you to have several squads ready for multiple mission...

Re: Lament for LWOTC
I was thinking Fatigue is a little different because LW 2 I think still suffers from the "why would I not always send my A team?" Because: A) they are already infiltrating elsewhere (oh shit... do I need to cancel that mission to counter this dark event, it's only 1 day left though... hmm...

Re: Lament for LWOTC
Yeah it's a real shame, since I completely share your opinions that LW2 was amazing in making you do hard decisions. The AI and Pod system of LW2 is the one thing I can never live without though. base XCOM2 AI was just so horrible, with it crawling up on you even when they don't know where you are. ...

Re: Do WOTC mods work with Long War 2?
There's a few cosmetic things that work on both, like tattoo mods, color palette mods, etc...
But anything that adds new armors/weapons etc, is specific to each version... generally the mod will mention in its description if it works for both.

Re: Haven advisor disappeared/bugged if "defend supply" mission not taken
This is exactly what is supposed to happen and doesn't have anything to do with the soldier being in your character pool. If you let any mini-retaliation expire with a soldier advisor the soldier will be captured. Captured soldiers can then be recovered in Jailbreaks, Rescue VIP or Extract VIP miss...

Re: Haven advisor disappeared/bugged if "defend supply" mission not taken
Let me start by saying I don't have an answer to this. I did however recently lose a soldier without noticing, and she was stationed at a Haven and I did have a haven mission with 'unhindered' reward that I skipped due to having no available people to do it at the time. She also appeared again as a ...

Battletech is pretty fun, but is quite light-weight compared to LWSpinDoctor wrote:Anything else out there worth playing? Not Xenonauts... That game is way too ugly to bear.

True enough, all these points I agree with.

but they don't share much which is very disappointing since this was labeled a community thing. Meh, the thing is that sharing constantly has two large downsides: 1. it's a lot of work 2. it's problematic when you change your mind on how to solve something after you've already posted large notes on...

Re: Increase hacking skills permanently by hacking
There is already a mod for this: http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=1125703954 I think it's good if they don't add too many small changes that mostly come down to taste, and instead just deal with the big picture, then anyone that wants changes like this just add small mods to LWo...

Re: this is awesome!
The guys on the discord seem to be actively working on the mod, and I'm pretty sure they'll have to make some hard choices on how to implement LW2 mechanics (infiltration combined with fatigue mechanic doesn't seem like a good combination to me for instance... hopefully they will use fatigue only on...

Re: Watching some WotC on youtube
Well on the first point I didn't actually mean inside missions (although that's certainly true too), I meant on the map, where you get stuff popping out all around you, all needing 5-7 days to scan and timing out after a while... made it really hard to prioritize stuff that doesn't time out (like co...

Watching some WotC on youtube
So I've not really played any xcom2 for a while now (WotC felt a bit strange with LW gone), but I've watched some WotC played, and there's a couple of glaring things watching it that I hope LWotC (or other mods) fixes. 1. There's never time to do anything. It looks like you can never finish somethin...

Re: Suggestions\Discussion: Faction Heroes
I think what I'd like would be making the factions more like specialized versions of existing classes (getting to be too many classes if there's 8 plus 3 factions on top of that). Just have their special stuff like claymore and grapple being unique to them, and have other non-unique style powers mov...

Re: How important is mobility?
I consider mobility point for point as important as a utility slot. I generally aim to reach 12, 14 or 15 movement after gear, so when someone has 13 and a free slot, I add something useful that brings him down to 12 total (which is 8 blue move + 8 yellow move).

Re: LW2 with both Infiltration & Fatigue Right Now
Sounds like an irritating mod that makes fun parts (longer battles) of LW2 not fun anymore. If I want a game that forces me to kill enemies in one turn instead of delay them with flashbangs and smokes I can play WotC instead. I think there's a cap how much fatigue you can gain on a mission, but I a...

Re: WotC LW2 Idea: Sparks
On a different note, I think SPARKs should be elegible for bonds. I know it sounds silly, but then you look at how people get emotionally attached to inanimate objects all the time, and you can see why. If a big robot saved your life, I'm sure you'd like that robot more even if it's identical to al...

Well just immersion wise I think it made sense that MECs levels up, while not as much for SPARK (well atleast not that you can't like take a backup to a usb-drive or something ).
I don't feel strongly either way though, just mentioning it...
