Mission schedule oddity
I was browsing through which missions have pods with bonus Force Level and found what looks like an outlier. Such pods seem to be constrained to special, predictable missions except for a lone Guerrilla Ops schedule at Force Level 14 (ScheduleID="Guerilla_D14_2_LW").

An ignored Rendezvous does not remove the Faceless
Confirmed by sectoidfodder here.
Considering launching and immediately evaccing will remove the Faceless, it would be nice to avoid that pointless tedium when I'm not interested in a fight.

Re: Failed mission grants non-zero XP
Mission xp on failure = (proportion of non-RNF enemies killed) times (50%)
If you killed nothing, your soldier must have earned two promotions in their prior mission.

Re: Strategy Level "Board Game"
Yes all DE are represented as a mission on the map, but there's zero restrictions on which region they show up in (well maybe there is some weight that goes towards putting them in regions you have, but I don't know the details, all I do know is that a developer straight out said they can show up i...

Re: One bum's code digging notes
3. there's a minimum amount of rebels on jobs before it's possible for them to do a retaliation, thus this is the true benefit of "hiding" This can't be the full story. See here . Xwynns has controlled this region for 8 days, and he had 4 rebels on intel and 1 on recruit the whole time. H...

Re: XP for failed mission
Our suspicion is that the soldiers earned two level-ups from a prior mission, but you can only register one level-up per mission, so the level-ups you are seeing on failed missions are "clearing the books" so to speak. Ah, I thought this was prevented by default like in XCOM1, but I guess...

Re: Hiding is useless
For example, if this region has like a vigilance of 15, but your other regions only have a vigilance of 2-4, the entire world's worth of Advent is still going to be pouring into the vigilance 15 region, on and on and on until maybe that region's vigilance naturally goes down to about 8 and you made...

Re: XP for failed mission
Xwynns got a promotion from a 100% failed mission in his latest video. Timestamp: https://youtu.be/W3_KJr5Kvmo?t=8m
Could it be because one of the mission objectives was "Extract all XCOM soldiers?"

Re: Movement optimization
Can you de-math that just a bit? Are there certain mobility numbers that move more efficiently/effectively that we afford shot for ascryptc tried to list above? TL;DR Every point of mobility provides greater blue movement in some direction. The chart at the bottom is accurate except for straight-li...

Re: XP for failed mission
I had a VIP extraction where the engineer got ruthlessly shot down. My Shinobi who roped up while watching his charge die came back to base with a shiny new promotion. I never fired a shot.

Re: Readiness?
Readiness is *not* useless. Infiltration breakpoints are fuzzy; you can get the benefits of the next infiltration level at any point prior to the hard breakpoints everyone is passing around. A change in readiness indicates precisely when the benefits kick in.

Re: Movement optimization
I worked this out for EW here: http://www.reddit.com/r/Xcom/comments/3 ... nsensical/
It's identical in XCOM2 except the formula is now greater-than-or-equal, so the chart is inaccurate for straight-line movement of mobilities divisible by 3.

New music during loading screens doesn't play unless you alt-tab
Apparently there are meant to be spooky noises when the screen flashes. Those don't happen unless I alt-tab in the middle of the loading screen and then go back in.

Pathing Fleche through fire does... stuff.

The soldier appeared to finish the move and make the attack, but in actuality didn't. The soldier is invisibly standing in the burning square with all her actions refreshed. The broken animations when she's moved are the cherry on top.
